Casey had heard many stories about the Mirror of Erised from her mother. She knew it was supposed to show you what you wanted most. But she wasn't sure what she wanted most. She opened the door to the room containing the mirror. When she looked into its depths, she didn't see herself winning the Head Girl position or even being chosen for the Tri-Wizard Tournament. She saw what she wanted most in the whole world: Herself and her mother and father sitting together around the dinner table talking, just like they always did. Tears came to her eyes as she realized just how much she missed them. Tearing her gaze away from the mirror, she fell to her knees and sobbed with homesickness.
